Package Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Baghdad. VIP transfer from the airport to your hotel then, depending on arrival time, a tour around the city to get aquainted with its landmarks.
Day 2
Wander through Old Baghdad and its lively markets, and enjoy a local delicacy for lunch in the middle of Al-Mutanabbi Street. Sail on the Tigris River and visit the Mustansriya School, the Abbasid Palace, and the Martyr’s Monument.
Day 3
Visit the Iraqi Museum and explore its national Treasures, then travel west to visit the towering ziggurat of Dur-Kurigalzu and head back to Baghdad.
Day 4
Head to the ancient city of Babylon, explore the presidential palace in there and the tall ziggurat of Borsippa, and immerse yourself in Najaf-home to the world's largest cemetery and the sacred shrine of Imam Ali.
Day 5
Head to Karbala to see the formidable fortress of Al-Ukhaidhar, then visit the holy shrine of Imam Hussein and Abbas.
Day 6
Head south to Nassiriyah and step back in time to visit the Great City of Ur, where writing began.
Day 7
Early morning start to visit the Mesopotamian Marshes! Enjoy a delicious lunch in a traditional reed guesthouse. After lunch, go to Al-Qurna to witness the convergeance of the Tigris and Euphrates, as well as the fabled Tree of Knowledge. Then, set sights on Basra.
Day 8
Delve into Old Basra and its markets, enjoy a serene boat tour on the Shatt Al-Arab, and visit the Basra Museum.
Day 9
Hit the road and head back to Baghdad, potential activities can be arranged depending on preference.
Day 10
Early morning start to visit Samarra and see its former Abbasid glory. Explore the ancient city of Hatra, and experience the lively nighttime atmosphere of Mosul.
Day 11
Walk around Old Mosul, witness UNESCO's restoration efforts, and see the marks of a historic battle against ISIS. Proceed to Bakhdidi, a Christian village visited by the Pope, and end the tour with departure from the city of Erbil.
