The tangible heritage dossier of Iraq includes iconic archaeological sites such as the ancient city of Babylon, the archaeological city of Samarra, and the Citadel of Erbil, which represent the country's significant historical and architectural legacy. Intangible heritage dossiers of Iraq include unique and diverse elements of Iraq's culture and history such as but not limited to the Iraqi Maqam, Date palms, and Arabic calligraphy.

Package Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival day in Baghdad. VIP transfer to your hotel, where your tour guide will help get aquainted with the city's landmarks.
Day 2
Explore the treasures of the Iraqi Museum, then wander through Baghdad's old streets and markets. Visit the Mustansiriya School and Abbasid Palace in old Baghdad, and enjoy a boat ride on the Tigris and some local delicacies.
Day 3
Visit the ancient city of Babylon, named a UNESCO Heritage site in 2019, and the ziggurat of Borsippa. Head to Najaf and see the Valley of Peace cemetery- the biggest cemetery in the world.
Day 4
Head to see The Fortress of Al-Ukhaidar, then head south to see the archeological site of Nippur.
Day 5
Visit the sumerian cities of Uruk, Ur, and Eridu.
Day 6
Early start to have a sunrise boat tour of the Mesopotamian Marshes, learn the locals' way of life, and enjoy a delicious lunch in a traditional reed guesthouse. After lunch, head back to Baghdad.
Day 7
Head north to visit Samarra, the capital of the Abbasid caliphate, and see its astonishing sites like the Grand Mosque of Samarra and its spiral (Malwiya) Minaret. Visit the Ashur site (Qal'at Sherqat), and then head to Hatra, the capital of the first Arab kingdom, and see its amazing well-preserved temples and also the damage that was caused by ISIS.
Day 8
Wander through the old city of Mosul and its markets, and observe the work being done by UNESCO to restore its history and heritage.
Day 9
Head to Erbil and visit Erbil Citadel, one of the longest continuously inhabited sites in the world, and wander around the local market and the area around it.
